Ang Thong Marine Park

On Tuesday we spent the day out at Ang Thong. It is an archipelago of 60 or so islands to the north west of Samui.

It was meant to take an hour on the boat to get there but it was choppy as hell so it took another 25mins to get to the first stop, Koh Wa Yai. Check this map, it’s up the top. Here we caught up with a few other boats and went snorkling for about 50mins. It was pretty rad. Not a whole lot of wow fishies and the corals seemed to be quite plain. Good fun tho that snorkling business.

From there we cruised south between the small islands.

From there we went onto Koh Mae Koh to the Talay Nai which is a lake inside a mountain. Meant to be fed by the sea with a series of tunnels thru the rock. To get up there we had to walk a rad path that was a heap of ladders tbh. Check how steep.

thailand – day something

too many fucking lame kids at this resort. fail. snot in pool fail

Ok – Thailand Day…3 or 4?

IMG_3110-1Actually i think it is now day four. Anyway, we’re now in Koh Samui. It is… touristy. *plenty* of Germans and Aussies so I feel a little cliche which i was trying to avoid but being Aussie that is difficult. As with Phuket there are the old white guys with extremely bored young Thai girls following them around, also there seems to be quite a few blokes that might be living here with families and all.

Rocky’s Boutique is as I was expecting it to be. They do weddings here and there are lots of honeymooners but also a few families with screaming bairns and young kids that make too much noise.

Having a few issues with photos si i dont have any to post just yet!! but will continue this later on. lol.

Thailand – Day 1

Hi! We’re in Bangkok. How about that? Have been here before briefly three years ago and had a great time so we thought we’d come back and have another go.

We arrived very late last night after a 9 hour flight. It is 3 hours behind here so it was 1am Melbourne time when we got to our hotel, the Eastin Hotel in Makkasan. It is a very new hotel and it’s pretty snazzy. I’ve no idea what we’re paying a night but it isnt all that much.

Immeditaly we went and found some food. On the street there were all sorts of wonderfully aromatic… foods of some sort. Chicken screwers, noodles, bbq’d fish on sticks etc. We went for the old trusty pad thai:
